Harpy Eagle "lands" In The US Embassy

A beautiful Harpy Eagle has landed in the USA Embassy. It is a painting by renowned American artist John Ruthven. Now on loan to the Embassy, this Harpy Eagle is a gesture saying, "thank you", to USA Ambassador Vinai Thummalapally for his support towards the Belize Harpy Eagle Restoration Program.

Paws Up To St. Matthew's Government School! To celebrate the efforts aimed at keeping a forest corridor healthy and thriving in Central Belize, (which our mighty jaguars need in order to maintain their populations), the Zoo, under expert guidance from Jamal Andrewin and Celso Poot, sponsored a creative arts contest for schools located within this "Jaguar Corridor".

April's 27^th Birthday Bash! The day may have been a hot one, but the celebration to mark the very famous April the Tapir's 27^th birthday was very cool. Over 150 people came to bring birthday greetings to this happy mountain cow.

Teacher, and friend of Belizean wildlife, Rebecca Hernandez, brings very special education to the students of the Orange Walk Pre and Primary School. She, along with the school's dynamic principal, Ruth Ku, are big believers in the joy and importance of reading.

He is the King of “Meet and Greet” at The Belize Zoo, and his name is “FieldMaster”. This too-gorgeous-for-words male Jaguar, weighing in at about 130 lbs, is a former “Problem Jaguar” and a star graduate of the zoo’s “Problem Jaguar Rehabilitation” program.
